It really is a Good Life

We are so excited to be one of the first amateur companies to receive the performing rights to this incredible show!  Tom and Barbara Good, the suburban eco-warriors and their friends and neighbours, Margo and Jerry Leadbetter, from the highly popular and award-winning sitcom are back, but this time on stage!  Adapted by Jeremy Samms from the original scripts, the play sees the characters go through some uproarious adventures - some old, some new, but always hilariously familiar.  This new play celebrates a time when, whatever our differences, we still managed to get on with our neighbours

when women were just beginning to gain their own voice and when sustainability was a new and very "questionable" ideal.  We are bringing this wonderful play to two venues in April 2023.

Panto is back ...... oh yes it is!

We have now found our principal cast for panto and had a very successful first read through this weekend. All those usual panto characters are here - the Pompous King with his bossy Queen, their beautiful Princess Jane, our hero Jack and his twin sister Jill - The magical Fairy the evil baddie and many more besides.  It isn't too late if you would like to join our ensemble , for more details, please contact Fiona on artistic@equusprodutions.org

Panto is back ...... oh yes it is!

After a very successful run of Cinderella last year, Fiona has been persuaded to do Panto again (the original plan was every other year, but Mickey can be very persuasive when he wants to be!)  So she has written this year's offering, Jack, Jill & the Beanstalk and the principal cast are in place.  We are holding a workshop on Sunday 4th September where you can meet the team, find out about the show and what it entails and see whether you would like to join us - either on or off the stage.  We are a welcoming and friendly bunch and we would love to meet you, for more details or to register your interest, please contact Fiona on artistic@equusprodutions.org

An evening of fun for all!

Still Waiting for God and   Cinderella will go to the Ball!

Obviously as the pandemic continues and worsens all plans have had to be put on hold for the foreseeable future.

We continue to meet as a team and still have lots of future plans in the pipeline.

The cast & crew remain in place and on standby to bring you "Waiting for God" as soon as it is safe to do so, and we are hoping that Cinderella will go to the ball in 2021.

We wish you all a very Happy Christmas and a healthy and happy new year.

COVID-19 UPDATE

Obviously, with the current lockdown and all theatres being closed, our production of Waiting for God has had to be postponed.  The Cast & Crew have continued to work hard behind closed doors and have been meeting once a week via Skype & Zoom to discuss and rehearse the show, as soon as we are allowed to re-open the doors, tickets will be on sale and the show will be staged......watch this space!

We have also had to make some cast changes.  The role of Jane Edwards will now be played by Penny Pomroy  and the role of Dennis Sparrow by Mike Payne.

PANTOMIME RETURNS TO LACEY GREEN

We have wanted to stage a pantomime for some time and now the opportunity has arisen and we are so excited.  We are delighted to be bringing back a real community event to Lacey Green in December 2020 and hope to involve many of the local residents as well as some of our members and regular performers.

We will be announcing auditions very soon for other members of the cast, we will also be looking for a large ensemble of children and adults for all those dance numbers!

We will be looking to the other roles shortly and will be requiring a large ensemble for all those song and dance numbers!

Waiting for God

Based on the extremely popular and award-winning BBC TV series, all the favourite characters are reimagined for the current day and are still facing the challenges that come with growing old disgracefully in the era of the silver surfer. At Bayview Retirement Village, battle-axe extraordinaire Diana Trent conspires with new resident Tom Ballard to give the conniving manager his comeuppance through a hilarious conspiracy with unexpectedly heart-warming results.

The show has now been cast and rehearsals are under way.

Tickets to the show will be available soon.
